Many Malaysians would associate the term 'tuition' with tuition centres. It’s right because these tuition centres represent the most abundant form of extra coaching available in the country. However, there is another type of tuition that is gaining fast in popularity.

It goes by various names; such as home tuition, private tuition, personal tuition, one-to-one tuition, individual tuition, small group tuition etc. The main feature which sets it apart from the tuition centres is its smaller student-to-teacher ratio, which translates to more personal attention for each student. Ultimately, this personal attention would achieve better results compared to tuition centres and schools.

Close & personal attention

Just how personal is the attention provided by private tuition? The form of private tuition with the largest class size is called small group tuition (or just group tuition). How to calculate the monthly fees?

The monthly tuition fees are calculated on 4-weeks basis. For example, if the tuition teacher charges RM30 per hour; and you choose to have classes twice a week; 1.5 hours for each class, the monthly tuition fees should be RM 360:

No matter how many tuition subjects are taken, the tuition fees remain the same, i.e. RM 360.

Because different tutors offer different tuition rates according to

Therefore, the rates above only serve as guidelines. Mytuitionstreet plays no part in determining the rates. It's the tutor who offers the rate.

The fees are out of my budget
We suggest you to find 1 or 2 students to join the tuition class and share the tuition fees. Please contact us for further details and we have various suggestions to suit all your budgets.

Service Agreement for Parents

Mytuitionstreet will collect one time agency fee from the parents 2 weeks after the 1st lesson has commenced. This amount will be 50% of tutors' agreed tuition fee with parents (4 weeks). This fees is merely a deduction from the tutor's initial salary, there is no additional charges collected from the student side. Also, this fee includes any transport or tutoring materials fees counted in the tutor's salary.

Example:

1 salary period consist of (8 lessons x 2 hours per lesson), with tuition fee = MYR25/hr

Tuition agency fee = 50% x (16 hours x MYR25) = MYR200

Payment Mode:

ATM Transfer/ Internet Banking/ We collect from you upon your request.

*please email us the date paid and transaction reference number so we can identify you as the payer. If convenience, you may scan the receipt and send to us via email.

* On receipt of your payment, an official receipt will be mailed to your postal address within 5 working days.

Additional Notes:

The tutor is required to call you to confirm the details of the tuition info/assignment before start of the lesson. If you fail to hear from the tutor, please let us know as soon as possible.
The tutor is required to bring along his/her NRIC & original educational certificates for your verification in 1^st lesson.
We will contact you after 2^nd lesson to collect your feedback on the performance of the tutor to improve our service quality.
We will collect the agency fee from the tutor if he/she does not turn up for the assignment.

Service Guarantee:

As a reliable tuition agency in Malaysia, we provide a guarantee service for our value customer. If you are not happy with the newly engaged tutor, please let us know within 2 lessons after the commencement of 1st lesson. We will replace another tutor for you without charging any agency fee for the 1st tutor. However, you may need to pay for the 2 lessons to the 1st tutor. Pleases note that it is not possible for us to guarantee the quality of tutors or whether they can commit to tutoring the student for a long time.

Disclaimer:

To ensure the tutor have the qualification that they claims, we would inform every tutor to bring along their NRIC and original educational certificates for verification by parents on the 1^st lesson, so parents are assured that the tutor has the qualifications that he/she claims.

1) What is the service that mytuitionstreet provide?
- Mytuitionstreet provides a home tuition referral service, where we help parents or students to find their home tutor. Concurrently, we also help the tutors to find tuition jobs.

2) Where is the location of the tuition class?
- You can choose the tuition location as well as the time. It can be anywhere based on your convenience such as your house, office and etc.

3) How is the timetable scheduled?
- The timetable can be flexible as your requirements and is negotiable with the tutor.

4) How many students will there be in a class?
- The choice is yours. It can be 1-to-1 tuition or small group tuition.

5) How many subjects can the tutor teach in 1 hour?
- This is highly depending on student’s learning process. Some students can take 3 subjects in 1 hour but some students can only take 1 subject in 2 hours.

6) What material should I prepare for home tuition?
- The tutor will evaluate your child level before him/her buying your kid any extra revision books or other materials. He/ she will claim the cost of books from you by giving you the receipt after he/she buy the books. However, if the tutor found that you have sufficient books or materials, he/ she will not buy you any.

7) Why the tuition price is varied?
- This is highly dependent on your search criteria for a tutor and would different from individual to individual. You may refer to our tuition rate page. Of course, it is just a guide and is subjected to changes.

8) How do I request a home tutor through mytuitionstreet?
- Call/SMS us at 014-3663892 or visit www.mytuitionstreet.com. We will call you to verify and confirm your request details before short listing tutors for you.

9) Do I have to pay mytuitionstreet for the service?
- No, our referral service is totally free for students/parents. You only need to pay for the tuition fees based on the rate agreed.
- However, we need you to pay the first 2 weeks’ tuition fees to us (instead of to the tutor) as commission charged on the tutor. Then, you pay another 50% of tuition fee to the tutor after 4 weeks classes is complete.

10) How do I make the payment for the commission?
- We accept bank-in, transfer via ATM, Maybank2u, or come to your prefer place for cash/cheque collection upon your request.

11) How long does it take to get a tutor after submitting a request?
- Upon receiving your request, we will call you within 24 hours to confirm your request details. Then, a suitable tutor will be short-listed and will contact you within 5 working days or less to discuss the details, such as schedule, rate, appointment etc. So generally you should get your tutor within 1 week after you submit your request.

12) Can I change the tutor if I found that he or she is not suitable?
- Yes. If you are not satisfied with the tutor, please let us know within 2 first lessons, you can change the tutor and we won’t charge any commission to the tutors. However, you need to pay the tuition fees for all tuition sessions given by the tutor unless the tutor agreed to provide free trial classes.

13) When should I pay for the tuition fees?
- Parents can make tuition fee payment based on monthly basis or 4 week basis. But tuition fee is calculated based on the total service hour that the tutors had provided at that month.

14) Can I have a replacement class if I miss the tuition class?
- Replacement class can be made with prior notice and discussion with the tutor. Tuition Fees will not be charged for the missing class. However, we do not encourage this happen always because this will influence student’s learning progress and may cause inconvenient to the tutor.

15) How do I know my payment has been received by mytuitionstreet?
- On receive of your payment, an official receipt will be mailed to your postal address within 5 working days.

16) Are the tutors our employees?
- No. mytuitionstreet does not employ any tutor. We only provide home tuition referral service. Thus, we are not responsible for any misconduct by the tutors. However, we are always prepared to offer professional suggestions.

17) Who are the tutors?
- Ex-school teacher, current school teacher, full/part-time tutors, undergraduates and others. The tutors are short-listed from the thousands applications we receive each month. You can request from us for a detailed tutor profile of the tutor for your reference.

6) Do I have to pay for the registration?
- No, registration as a tutor is free of charge.

7) What are the benefits to register as a tutor?
- Once you are registered as a tutor, we will inform you the tuition jobs that match your requirements.

8) Do I have to pay mytuitionstreet for the referral service?
- Yes, 50% of the agreed first 4 weeks tuition fee will be charge even though there is any addition/ cancellation of class during that month. We will not charge any commission for the subsequent weeks or months and its 100% yours!
- We will collect commission fees from parents directly 2 weeks after your 1^st lesson was given. The tuition fees for the first two weeks are equivalent to 50% of the commission.
- E.g.: Monthly tuition fees are RM 300.00. the commission fee is RM150.

9) Why mytuitionstreet charge 50% commission for tutor?
- Mytuitionstreet spends a large amount of money and time during the process of getting students for the tutors every month. The costs are such as advertisement fees, maintenance fees, communication fees and others

10) Do I need my own transportation?
- Yes. You must have our own transport to get to the student's house. You are not allowed to request your student to get to your place unless the student willing to do so.

11) How do I receive my tuition fees?
- The parents pay directly to you except for the tuition fees for first two weeks of your class. They would normally pay at the end of every month after finishing the class.
- However, the parents reserve the rights of not paying you after the first lesson if your service deems to be unsatisfactory.

13) Can I change my mind after I have accepted an offer from mytuitionstreet?
- You are request to think probably before accept our offer and confirm to take the tuition class. After you have decided to take up an offer from mytuitionstreet, you are not allowed to change your mind as you like. If you do so, you will be blacklisted forever. (Unless you have a very good reason to support your mistake).

14) When I register, am I an employee of mytuitionstreet?
- No. mytuitionstreet is only providing tuition referral services and is not responsible for the services provided by tutors. Each tutor is solely responsible to pay all taxes on income earned, and all other issues and responsibilities related to tutoring.

15) When and how will I receive my first tuition offer?
- We will call you or sms you for any offer, but we can't say for sure when you can receive your first offer. Some tutors get the first offer few days after they have registered, some tutors never get any offer from us. It is largely depends on your qualification, experience, and expected tuition rate. Experienced tutors who are able to teach in major towns with a lower rate are more likely to receive their first offer sooner.

16) How much referral fees I get if I were to recommend parents to mytuitionstreet?
- You will get 70% referral fees out of the commission fees if the tuition job successfully assigned to a suitable tutor. After collecting the commission, we will bank in to you.

17) Does mytuitionstreet provides me any tuition material?
- No. You should prepare the notes, text book, and all the teaching materials. You can claim the money for buying teaching materials from the parents.

18) How many lessons should I attend in a month?
- Classes are calculated in four weeks basis. If you cannot attend/ student cannot attend for any classes, please arrange the replacement class.

PLEASE READ THOUGH BELOW TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND THE FAQs BEFORE YOUR REGISTRATION. YOU ARE DEEMDED TO ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IF YOUR PROCEED. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER.

1) Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a Malaysian Citizen/Malaysian permanent resident or a Valid Employment Pass holder.
You need to have a minimum academic qualification and good grades in the subjects that you wish to teach. During the first lesson, you have to show the student/parent your relevant Educational Certificate/s to verify your qualifications for the specific assignment upon request.

2) Commissions

Mytuitionstreet is entitled to charge 50% of the agreed case. (Example, a four weeks lesson cost RM300, you are entitled to pay RM 150 to mytuitionstreet even though there is any addition/ cancellation of class during that month).
Mytuitionstreet is authorized to collect the said commission directly from parents, after the second weeks of tuition.
Any attempt to cheat or deprive mytuitionstreet of its legal share of commission, will result in legal actions being taken.

3) Payment

We only collect 50% of your first month salary as commission fee.
For subsequent lessons, the parents/student will pay the full sum of tuition fees directly to you.

4) Limitation

Mytuitionstreet is just providing home tuition referral service. Each tutor is solely responsible for paying all taxes on income earned, and all other issues and responsibilities related during tutoring. Mytuitionstreet will not be responsible for resolving any conflict or disagreement that may arise between the tutor and parents/students. However, we are always prepared to offer professional suggestionss.
You are solely responsible for the information you provided to mytuitionstreet. Mytuitionstreet shall not be liable for any misrepresentation, fraud, or any inaccuracies of information provided by you.
Mytuitionstreet does not involve in any tutor-student-parent interactions. Mytuitionstreet is not responsible for any disputes, claims, loss, injury, or damage that might arise during and after that interaction. Teach at the student's house and interact with the parents and students at your own risk.
Mytuitionstreet reserves the right to add, modify or delete any information on this term & conditions at any time without prior notice given.

5) Termination

If the student prematurely terminates the tuition job within first month, you just need to pay us 25% of tuition fee for all your service hours as commissions
If the reason for the student's termination is due to your fault as a tutor (eg. you are chronically late, did not attend lesson without any valid explanation, always cancel the class without any valid reason, you do not know how to teach etc), you need to pay us 50% of tuition fee for all your service hours as commissions.

6) Cancellation of Class

If you are unable to attend the tuition, please give notification to parents/students 24 hours prior the tuition lesson start time. A valid reason must also be given on notification. You will be excused if the students/parents accept your reason given.
Cancellation without a notice and valid reason with cause your member account to be blacklisted.
